HPS Office Systems Buys IDC Business Solutions, Merge Offices Friday, April 21, 2006 Indianapolis (IN) - Two of the oldest Hoosier-owned office solutions companies have become one. HPS Office Systems has acquired IDC Business Solutions in a deal placing more than 2,000 IDC Business Solutions customer accounts under the administration of HPS Office Systems' five central Indiana offices. The acquisition elevates HPS Office Systems among Indy's top three dealers of office equipment, supplies and service.

Both companies have taken different paths to one another's door. HPS Office Systems began by specializing in photography services, equipment and supplies, focusing its mission toward providing document imaging, duplication equipment and services under the current ownership. IDC Business Solutions began offering stenciled duplication services and supplies to Indiana businesses, providing technology first made famous by David Gestetner whose 1881 Gestetner Corporation defined the reprographics industry with its revolutionary duplicating products. General Dwight D. Eisenhower, who printed his D-Day Invasion plans on a Gestetner Duplicator, was quoted as saying ... "We couldn't have won the war without Gestetner."

Since its beginning in 1958, IDC Business Solutions has watched duplication technology progress from mimeograph duplicators to present day large-format, computerized digital duplication machines. Like HPS Office Systems, IDC Business Solutions always sought to offer cost-saving solutions to businesses and organizations needing to produce a large number of duplicates from an original document.

The acquisition was made official earlier this week and IDC Business Solutions employees have already begun reporting to work at HPS Office Systems Park 100 office complex.
